Jen, a passionate educator and avid nature enthusiast, brings her love for baking and local flavors to life at our establishment. Her skills guarantee a delightful stay at our Inn while adding depth to the workshop series at our Garden Shop, offering guests truly enriching and unforgettable experiences.

Dan, a passionate gardener and tourism management expert with 20 years of experience in Cape Breton Island, enriches our venture with his expertise. From managing hotels and resorts to crafting marketing for events like Celtic Colours and Destination Cape Breton, his skills enhance our business and the local tourism industry.

Together, amidst a tranquil setting, Jen and Dan unite their passions to create an exceptional experience for all who visit Auld Farm Inn and Fiddle Shed Garden Shop.

Our three daughters provide us with the inspiration and motivation to live a better life by connecting with quality, local and natural food and overall lifestyle. We embark on this journey to learn and to teach a more locally connected and healthy life as they would have lived in 1874 when this farm was originally built.

Our family pets are cherished members of our team, each contributing their unique qualities to make our home complete.
Gus, our 16-year-old, 6-pound senior dog, is the wise elder of the group. Though his hearing and vision aren’t what they used to be, his years of experience bring a calming presence to us all.
Sully, our 6-year-old cat, is a quiet and stealthy guardian, always on the lookout for unwelcome rodents who might wander onto the property. You might not see him often, but he’s always keeping watch.
Tillie, our 2-year-old Portuguese Water Dog, is a bundle of energy and affection. She’ll be the first to greet you during your visit, eager to share her love and enthusiasm with everyone she meets.
Scooter, our 1-year-old kitten, is a curious and playful little adventurer. He adores belly rubs and loves tagging along with his big brother Sully on their explorations. Together, they make a dynamic duo!

Our pets are cherished members of our family, but to ensure a high-quality experience for all guests, they are not allowed in guest rooms and have restricted access on the property. Both dogs are hypoallergenic breeds, and our cats are primarily kept indoors. If you have any concerns regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re happy to address them.
