Hands-On Workshops & Gatherings in a 150-Year-Old Cape Breton Barn

Step into a place where people gather, learn, and make things with their hands together 🌾. Built in 1876, our historic barn at Auld Farm Inn began its life as a working dairy barn for cattle and horses. Today, it’s home to our own season of workshops — arts, culture, gardening, and homesteading sessions where you’ll leave with a new skill and something you made yourself.
With axe-hewn timber beams, authentic windows and doors, and soft string lights overhead, the barn offers a setting that’s relaxed, genuine, and a little bit different from a standard classroom or hall. It’s a space that puts people at ease and gets them working together — hands in the soil, hands on the materials, hands on the craft.
Join us for a season of community and learning at the Fiddle Shed, right here on the farm.
